Gone are the days where schools taught only the core subjects (Reading, Writing & Math). 21st Century education involves teaching real-life skills such as:
1) Critical thinking
2) Solving multileveled problems
3) Ability to work well with others.
4) Be digitally and technically literate
5) Have the ability to apply knowledge to real-life situations. (Newman. 2013)

Kids today are born into an entirely different world then children of the 60's, 70's and even the 80's. Computers, cell phones, video games, I pads,  I Pods and like items are common day play toys to the 90's generation. So as kids get smarter via technology, so much the educators who teach them. Being a life-long learner has no age limit. Follow the above links to learn what my Educational Philosophy is and how I plan to integrate it into my future classroom.
